Mangos Beachfront Bar was born in 2016 when Mark and Michele Meana, along with their daughter Lindsay,
brought a little Texas heart to the shores of Hopkins, Belize. Over the years, they transformed the space into a beloved
local hangout—an easygoing spot where locals, expats, and travelers could relax with great food, cold drinks,
and their toes in the Caribbean. Their passion, creativity, and countless improvements helped shape Mangos
into the quintessential beach bar it is today.
In 2025, after nearly a decade of memories, the Meanas were ready for their next adventure.
That moment aligned perfectly with a long-held dream for new owners Mark Long and Marci Caputo. For more
than 10 years, they had imagined finding the perfect Caribbean bar. When Mangos popped up on their radar,
they booked a flight to Belize and arrived just in time for “Music Bingo Night.” One look at the sun-faded
blue building, the laid-back crowd, and the unbeatable beach vibes—and they were hooked.
A couple more trips, a tour of the community, and it became clear: this was home.
A smooth transition was made even easier thanks to Lindsay, the incredible manager
and chef who chose to stay on and continue leading the Mangos team.
Mark and Marci are from Washington State and parents to four young adults, ages 18–25. “Our kids are
launching into their own amazing lives, our parents are healthy, and everything aligned,” they say. “It feels
like the perfect time to grab our dream and dive into this adventure.”
Today, Mangos continues its original mission—serving great food, cold drinks, and unforgettable Caribbean
moments—while embracing new energy, new ideas, and the same spirit of joy, connection,
and relaxation that guests have loved since the beginning.
Not easy to find… impossible to forget.
